Bond No. 9 have been the reigning masters of modern, NYC-based oud for many years now, but Super Oud delivers a spicy new twist to the pantheon. "This particular fragrance is comprised of rarified and precious ingredients to create a uniquely extravagant oud," says Bond No. 9 Founder Laurice Rahme.
Super Oud represents the sophisticated side of the city - home to the world's undeniably finest hotels, museums and restaurants - and is comprised of opulent notes that speak to the finer side of urban life.
Super Oud naturally opens with two of the richest gourmand notes available: roasted Arabica coffee and highly valuable saffron threads. Saffron, also known as "red gold", is prized for its iconic heritage, fragility and labor-intensive harvesting. it takes tens of thousands of handpicked crocus flowers harvested at dawn and dried over time to gather each prized thread. Warm, leathery, and slightly sweet, saffron's rare scent is as complex as its careful collection.
The heart of the fragrance is an intriguing mix of white rose, singular for its ultra fresh dewy lightness, supported by the more grounded creamy, caramel-esque benzoin and balsamic, slightly lemony olibanum resin.
At its base is a symphony of refined well-rounded notes befitting such a superb blend. Spicy patchouli oil, mildly leathery and always sumptuous suede and powerfully woody Amberxtreme, join its legendary namesake, oud to create an altogether super iconic new fragrance.
