"It's a whimsical scent inspired by a summer getaway," says Rahme, who collaborated with Mane Master Perfumer Claude Dir, celebrated for crafting fragrances that surprise and delight.
Island opens with sparkling top notes of spicy white ginger, fresh green basil, and a water mint accord. These bright, breezy notes evoke a refreshing walk through a park on a warm summer day. At the heart of the fragrance is a lush green foliage note, paying homage to the abundant flora that thrives alongside New York City’s urban landscape. Red seaweed adds a briny, maritime element, while champaca, a honeyed and animalistic white floral, provides a rich, otherworldly depth. For champaca, Dir incorporated Mane’s proprietary E. Pure Jungle Essence, a modern, eco-friendly extraction method that updates the traditional enfleurage technique and nods to the city’s futuristic architecture.
The base notes offer a warm and sunny finish with creamy sandalwood, salty amber, and verdant tree moss, creating a harmonious and enduring fragrance that captures both the energy of the city and the relaxation of an island retreat.
