A Garden by the Sea

Shelter Island, spanning 27 square miles between the North and South Forks, is a haven of natural beauty with meandering creeks, wandering deer, and stately Queen Anne and Colonial Revival homes. This tranquil island is our Summer ’14 beach scent, launching on counters for Memorial Day. Shelter Island is a place where life moves slowly. The speed limit never exceeds 35 miles per hour, and even the elegant Sunset Beach Hotel maintains the island’s relaxed charm, more serene than nearby Sag Harbor. Historically, this area offered sanctuary to the Manhasset Indians, sugar merchants, Quakers, and fish processors.

The Shelter Island fragrance captures the magic of this extraordinary location. It is the world’s first marine oud, a unisex scent that combines the precious and alluring oud with algae extract for a refreshing, nautical touch. Top notes feature sparkling citrus zest and freshly ground pepper, delivering a lively and invigorating opening. The heart unfolds with soft white lilies and bracing, briny algae extract, evoking the sensation of a seaside garden. Base notes of sandalwood, amber, myrrh, and musk create warmth and depth, while the oud provides a signature richness reminiscent of the Eastern tradition of scenting lapels for intimate greetings.
