SAG HARBOR

Sag Harbor has long been celebrated as the non-Hamptons Hampton. This summer retreat attracts New York’s writers, artists, and designers who appreciate its quaint, old-world charm combined with a distinct Manhattan cool. Unlike Montauk, which juts into the Atlantic with waves pounding the shore, Sag Harbor is tucked into its own sheltered bay, offering a calm, self-contained escape.

Historically, Sag Harbor was a thriving whaling village from the colonial era into the 19th century and was even mentioned in Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. For a time, it served as the port of entry for the state of New York. Into the 20th century, before Manhattan’s summer visitors arrived, Sag Harbor was a lively center of trade, supporting small silver crafting and manufacturing industries. Its historic streets are lined with Greek Revival homes on Captains Row, charming wood-frame buildings, picket fences, and a mix of local restaurants and shops that preserve the town’s distinctive character.

Following in the tradition of Hamptons, Fire Island, Coney Island, and Montauk, Sag Harbor is the fifth fragrance in our New York marine eaux de parfum series.

Sag Harbor opens with a Sag Harbor Bay accord accented by fresh, citrusy bergamot and crisp evergreen ivy leaf. Its heart combines a lush garden bouquet of peony, honeysuckle, and magnolia, complemented by tangy Long Island grapes. The fragrance settles into a captivating base of incense-like oud, warm amber, and rich sandalwood, evoking the town’s historic trading-post past.
