Volgens de legende kreeg Bond Street in Noho zijn naam in een vlaag van grilligheid. Begin 18e eeuw woonde een vooraanstaande bankier genaamd Samuel Ward in een weelderig herenhuis op de hoek van Broadway en een naamloze zijstraat.
