Making Scents of New York City
Bond No. 9 was born at 9 Bond Street, a Second Empire cast-iron building politely shining on a cobblestone street in NoHo, the neighborhood that historically served as the center of the city’s light manufacturing. Today, our flagship Bond Street storefront brings light to an equally as important cause: perfumery.
Bond No. 9 perfume debuted in 2003, but its bold aromatic agenda is rooted in the age-old New York tradition of unapologetic risk-taking. Our brand mission has two beautiful faces: to reconnect artistry with perfumery, and to celebrate each New York neighborhood with their own original and individual scent. Each fragrance celebrates a space, community, history, and city-wide spirit.
As could be expected by our bold mission and presentation, Bond No. 9’s craft restores the art of perfume blending, using exclusively 18 - 30 percent concentrations of pure eaux de parfums. These concentrations distinguished the long-lasting character of the 1920s and 1930s notorious notes. Now, we have decided it is time to open the door and let the strength of history waltz its way back into the city.
Our innovative Founder further demonstrated our New York values when she created the civic-minded perfume, The Scent of Peace, which brought her the United Nations Women for Peace Award in 2015. Daringly independent and shamelessly New York, Bond No.9 and all our creations reflect Laurice Rahme’s dedication to artistry, authenticity, and social impact.

Bond no.9 celebrates the ever-inspiring city we call home, as well as our loyal customers who keep the city worthy of celebration.

The Founder - Laurice Rahmé
Our Founder and CEO, Laurice Rahme, made history as the first woman in New York to head a perfumery. Stepping into the kaleidoscope of our dear city’s spotlight, Rahme translated the confidence and passion that distinguishes our home into practice. From managing concept and fragrance development, to the grand bottle and boutique designs, she has created and maintained a shamelessly bold company.
With Laurice as our pioneer, Bond has risen to be the first house of perfume to rebuild this magnificent city, neighborhood by neighborhood, through carefully curated fragrances.
Our History
Our story
Made to serve as a tribute and symbol of appreciation, Bond No.9 was born out of the love that Laurice Rahmé felt as she witnessed New York City rise and rebuild after 9/11. To show her abounding admiration for her city’s strength and resilience, she created the very first collection of neighborhood-centric scents to honor its fierce and unbreakable spirit.
Entrepreneur Rising Star Award
Laurice Rahmé was given the "Beauty/Fragrance Entrepreneur Rising Star Award" at the 9th annual Rising Star Awards, sponsored by Fashion Group International (FGI).
When Art Meets Fragrance
Bond No. 9 expanded beyond New York neighborhoods with a bold new direction—partnering with The Andy Warhol Foundation to launch a collection of over 12 collectible fragrances inspired by Warhol’s iconic art. “This marks the official recognition of fragrance as an art form,” says founder Laurice Rahmé. “We’re not leaving New York behind—we’re elevating it through Warhol’s lens.”
A New Era of Luxury
In 2009, Bond No. 9 achieved a significant milestone in the world of perfumery. We introduced our Signature Perfume, which was the first 30% concentration perfume released by Bond No.9 and put it into a category that's rare today: pure perfume. This aromatic masterpiece seamlessly blended the alluring notes from the East with a splash of contemporary charm from the West, thus spearheading a fragrance revolution in American perfumery.
Double Win at the FiFi Awards
Bond No. 9 is proud to announce that Astor Place and Brooklyn have both won the prestigious 2010 FiFi Award for Fragrance of the Year in the Nouveau Niche category—one for women, one for men.
Scents Of the empire state
In 2011, Bond No. 9 continued to crush conventional expectations for the fragrance world. Building a new blend that featured iconic designs from artist Milton Glaser and Bond No. 9’s secret city essence, we came up with the unforgettable "I Love NY” fragrance collection. These creations captured the crucial intersection between fragrance, culture, and art, infusing city scented soul into every vibrant bottle.
CEW Honors Laurice Rahmé

Upstairs, a salon-like space offers custom fragrance blending and Swarovski crystal embellishments—marking a modern evolution in a revitalized neighborhood.
Bond No. 9 Turns 20
In October 2023, Bond No. 9 celebrates 20 years of fragrance innovation with the launch of New York Forever—a bold new scent honoring the city’s enduring spirit. “New York Forever is a powerful fragrance for a powerful city,” says founder Laurice Rahmé.

Bond No. 9 set out to restore the legendary artistry of perfumery that has waned with the passage of time: a dedication to fine craftsmanship and higher concentrations of pure eaux de parfums, both inspired by vintage Parisian perfume blending.
I’ve been searching for a perfume that incorporates the decadent scent for ages, and I finally found it in the new Bond No.9 Gold Street, one of the most luxurious scents I’ve ever smelled.
Bond No. 9 took that sometimes fleeting feeling of peace and bottled it up to celebrate the city’s character and future as a sanctuary for everyone.
