Dubai, that emirate in the sand, has transformed itself in very recent years as a leading global metropolis—maybe the richest in the world. And one of the youngest too. Over 90 percent of its population are expats—an international workforce of street-smart, up-and-coming white collar tycoons who dine at the multitudinous ethnic restaurants, gallery hop at Al Quoz (the hot new arts district), take Cessna seaplanes for close-up summit views of the half-mile-high Burj Khalifa, sand board in the Arabian Desert, and stroll the alleyways lined with shops selling bulk versions of a raw, musky, resinous wood that’s long been a mainstay of exotic perfumery, oud.

So as the newest addition to Bond No. 9's celebrated, oud-centric Dubai Collection of exquisite oriental, Levantine, and North African essence blends, we created Dubai Platinum, a scintillating yet mesmerizing day-into-late-night brew for the new generation of savvy Millennial cosmopolites who are thriving in this future-world of a town.

Dubai Platinum opens with a smoky yet scintillating blend of incense, pink peppercorns and cardamom. These segue into mid-notes of aphrodisiac North African atlas cedar wood, mixed with woody Mediterranean evergreen cistus, creamy vanilla and fun-loving ginger. Finally, the sustaining base note: oud, paired with a veil of animalic cashmere and austere papyrus. Here, by necessity, is a unisex scent - because everyone, male or female, will crave it incessantly for themselves.
